Bauhinia galpinii is a vigorous, semi-evergreen shrub or scrambling climber valued for its masses of striking brick-red to salmon-orange flowers that appear from late spring through summer. The distinctive, twin-lobed “camel’s foot” leaves create soft texture, while the long flowering season brings bold, tropical colour to the landscape.

This hardy species thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, tolerating heat, light frost, and dry conditions once established. It can be shaped as a dense shrub, trained along fences, or allowed to sprawl naturally. Ideal for wildlife-friendly gardens, it attracts birds and pollinators, especially sunbirds.
